Botanical name: Daucus carota sativa
Family: Apiaceae

Carrot essential oil has nothing to do with carrots in our gardens. It comes from the seeds of a herb called “Daucus Carotta” Carrot. It is present in all temperate zones. Daucus Carota L. is a herbaceous plant, with no apparent smell. The leaves are finely cut, and the root is taping and a little woody. Its white or pink flowers are in the form of an umbel. Elliptical fruits are bristling with hooked tips.

Yield: 300g of oil = about 100kgs seeds 

Chemistry:

• Sesquiterpenols: carotol (40 to 70%)
• Sesquiterpenes : bisabolene (5 to 8 %)
• Alcools oxydes : daucol (1 to 5%)

PRACTICE

Skin

Dry skin: Add 1 drop of carrot essential oil to your daily day cream serving. You can use it every day if necessary.

Scar: mix 1 drop EO carrot + 1 drop EO lavender aspic + 3 drops rosehip. Then, massage firmly in the evening for 15 days

Both iver detoxification and liver problems (on medical advice) 1 drop of EO carrot + 1 drop spearmint EO + 1 drop rosemary verbenone EO on a tablet. Take it in the evening at the end of the meal for 15 days.
