The carrot is a herbaceous plant of the Apiaceae family (Umbelliferae) cultivated mainly by market gardeners for its edible part: the root. Its main use is obviously in the kitchen.
Carrots are an excellent source of β-carotene, a precursor of vitamin A. This colouring substance offers a concentrate of radiance and a healthy glow to our skin.
Present in the oily macerate, this pro-vitamin A also has antioxidant properties allowing it to capture the free radicals produced by long exposure to the sun.
