Botanical name:\u00a0<\/strong>Pelargonium X graveolens
\n<\/strong>Family:<\/strong>\u00a0Geraniaceae<\/span><\/p>\n

Native to southern Africa, the Geranium is a perennial plant that grows on rich soils in the tropics at an altitude of about 1000 meters.<\/span>\u00a0About 80 centimetres high, it has fragrant green leaves and flowers with five\u00a0<\/span>red, pink or white petals<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Mr Franchomme (Master Aromatherapy Scientist), there are three main chemotypes for the essential oils of geranium rosat Pelargogium X graveolens:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

-Essential oils of geranium rosat Bourbon from R\u00e9union, Madagascar or Tunisia.
\n<\/span>-Geranium rosat essential oils from Morocco and Egypt:
\n<\/span>-those coming from China with a higher rate of citronellol, and less citral.
\n<\/span>The latter will be more anti-microbial whereas the first two will have a more important anti hemorrhoidal and antispasmodic component.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
