Choosing a Vegetable Oil should not be a big issue since they are harmless compared to Essential Oil. However, their texture is different, light or oily,\u00a0 the EO are mixed with more effective.<\/span><\/p>\n

Frequently used in our daily life (massage, cosmetics or food), they have multiple benefits. What is Vegetable Oil, how can we make a difference by choosing a good Vegetable Oil?<\/span><\/p>\n

What is a vegetable oil?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Oils are part of the fats family, a substance that doesn\u2019t mix with water.<\/span><\/p>\n

What role does it play?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Source of lipids for the body, a VO plays a very important role in caring for the body:<\/span>
\n– renews cell membranes<\/span>
\n– intervenes in the mechanism of several physiological systems (cardiovascular, immune, renal\u2026)<\/span>
\n– channels several vitamins within the human body (such as vitamin E)<\/span>
\n– neutralises free radicals<\/span>
\n– therefore, helps prevent cell ageing (dermis, red blood cells, blood vessels\u2026)<\/span><\/p>\n

How is it made?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Here is the manufacturing process of a classical VO:<\/span>
\n1 \u2013<\/strong> the seeds are washed and shelled in order to be ground and heated at 100\u00b0C (the heating produces a greater quantity of oil but they lose active principles in the process).<\/span>
\n2 \u2013<\/strong> they are pressed several times in raw presses, thus producing a crude pressed oil. The residue of the pressing is obtained by using a solvent (petrochemical in origin).<\/span>
\n3 \u2013<\/strong> the refining stage: in order to dispose of the solvents, pesticides or even moulds, the oil will be mixed with phosphoric acid and neutralised with soda. Finally, the oil will be sanitised by heating. It is easy to understand that many properties are lost in the process. However, these oils will be more resistant and will keep longer.<\/span>
\nHere is the manufacturing process of an organic EO:<\/span>
\nFirst and foremost, this manufacture requires products of organic origin. Therefore they do not contain pesticides from the start.<\/span>
\nThe seeds are cleaned and then pressed mechanically.<\/span>
\nThe temperature will not exceed 50\u00b0C in order to retain all their qualities. The oil is then filtered through cotton cloths followed by blotting paper.<\/span><\/p>\n
